We all use white vinegar in our kitchen but from now on, you will be able to extend its use to the garden. The major components of this miraculous product are Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen. It’s a weak acid (structural formula:– CH3COOH-), yet let us look a little more closely at those elements.
It is clear that our plants have the ability to obtain those components from the air. Consequently, indirect methods can serve us as a solution. Keep reading to find out our key secrets to using vinegar efficiently in order to maintain and healthy and flourishing garden, and thank us later!
1. Fungus treatment
White vinegar in the garden remains a very good natural herbicide, therefore, you can use it to keep your plants safe from fungal infections. All you have to do is to fill a spray bottle with one cup of pure white vinegar and 1 liter of water, shake it well, then spray that on the affected leaves and let your plants regain their health.
2. Keep animals at bay
Animals like cats, dogs, rabbits, and rats can ruin your garden, but they are known for hating strong aromas, thus, you can keep them away by soaking a few cloths in vinegar and placing them in different spots around your garden. Vinegar is a good rodent repeller and the result will absolutely shock you.
NB: Don’t forget to repeat this operation on a daily basis.

3. Control slugs and snails
Unfortunately, slugs and snails are the most prevalent crop pests. Spray them directly with vinegar and get rid of them. Vinegar will dissolve the snails and you will take back control over your garden.
4. Ant control
Some ants are troublemakers. Here is the most efficient gardening tip to keep them at bay:
Fill a spray bottle with undiluted white vinegar, then spray all over the zones where ants are spreading. They will rapidly disappear.
5. Weedkiller
Weeds absorb water and nutrients from your plants; they can stop your plants from using the sunlight as well. You only have to spray some white pure vinegar on those unwanted weeds to keep them out of your garden. White vinegar makes for the best weed control! Just do not spray it on your favorite plants, in order not to kill them too.
6. Removing fruit flies
Fruit flies are annoying. To keep them away, think about making a vinegar bath. All you have to do is mix half a cup of vinegar, a cup of water, two teaspoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of honey (optional), then pour the resulting mixture into a jar of sufficient size and hang it on the affected fruit tree. And finally, watch the insect trap doing all the work for you.
7. Taking care of your gardening tools
Vinegar can be used to wash your rusty gardening tools. In fact, you only have to soak the tool in vinegar for about 1/3 of an hour and then rinse it off.
You can also clean your dirty pots and containers with vinegar. Just immerse the pot in a diluted vinegar solution and clean off after 20 to 30 minutes.
8. Nutrient solution for your plants
Blossom End Rot (BER) is a disease majorly caused by calcium deficiency. This can lead to a significant crop loss in tomatoes and peppers, early in the season. The accurate solution to this disorder is to add calcium because it can be easily absorbed by the roots. Therefore, we suggest adding white vinegar to lime, then adding some water, and shaking well for an hour. Finally, spray your garden and let your plants get free calcium.
9. For your acidic loving plants
Some plants are called “Acidic loving plants” because they grow beautifully in acidic soil. If your garden has a variety of those plants, you must test your soil pH. If the pH is more than 7, you absolutely need to amend it. Here is an easy tip to do so:
Just combine one liter of water with one tablespoon of white vinegar, then use this solution to water your plants once every 2 weeks and watch the magnificent results.
