Over the centuries, humans have discovered various medical and non-medical ways to heal the body. Many non-medical or complementary medicine treatments are even practiced to this day. Some of these include acupressure massage, acupuncture, tai chi, and cupping.

In this article, we explore an acupressure massage technique that can open up the airways of your lungs. Traditionally, this method alleviated people suffering from asthma and other breathing problems.

This significantly reduced the need for a portable oxygen machine. This is because it magically opened up the airways. So, the person’s breathing was restored without portable oxygen.

1. Acupressure Points to Massage

Hand points in acupressure are very important to resolve lung, bladder, and pancreatic issues. Those who have breathing problems often experience a tingling in their hands when they experience hyperventilation. When this occurs, using this hack can prevent you from requiring an oxygen concentrator.

However, you should also practice pressing these hand points in the acupressure technique even if you don’t have breathing problems. This trick can help you get more oxygen to your body, thus increasing the blood flow to the cells. This way, it can tackle tiredness and muscle fatigue and even encourage weight loss.

Step 1: Breathe In and Out

The first step is to breathe in and out normally. If you are someone who has restricted airways, you could also breathe in with your portable oxygen machine.

Step 2: Press the Acupressure Points

The next step is to place your thumb on the bottom left side of your palm. When you press a little, you will feel a band of flesh. You need to exert pressure on this band to improve your breathing. This time, you could even remove the portable oxygen and feel the difference.

Step 3: Breath in While Pressing

The final step is to press the point for 10 seconds. Continue to apply pressure to these acupressure sites while taking a deep breath. You’ll notice a noticeable change in your respiration. You’ll notice that breathing is becoming more effortless. If you use an oxygen concentrator, you will feel like breathing through it.

2. What Is the Ideal Time to Do This?

Breathing in and out exercises are common across yoga and other forms of exercise. Doctors also suggest this exercise to regulate your stress levels. You could do this at any time of the day, but the best time is when the oxygen levels are high. So, you can do it in the morning before going about your day.

A great place to do it is in the park or near the trees in the morning, where they give out a lot of oxygen. This way, your lungs can take in ample oxygen and help you feel fresh and energized throughout the day.
