Increased sweating is caused by hyperhidrosis, yeast infections, and stress. These are extremely favorable for bacteria that produce unpleasant odors. And we know that feet odor, in particular, can be hard to neutralize.

1. Get rid of bacteria’s breeding grounds.
The majority of bacteria that produce foul odors thrive beneath the nails and in regions of thickened skin. When washing your feet, don’t forget to scrub your soles with pumice. Take better care of your toenails by keeping them short.

2. After washing, wipe between your toes.
After bathing, podologists suggest rubbing your feet with a cloth, especially between your toes, instead of just wiping them. This will prevent moisture from becoming a source of fungal infection.
3. Serve some tea.
Tea leaves contain tannins, which kill germs and decrease perspiration. You may take such foot baths on a daily basis. Combine 3 tsp tea in 1 liter of hot water, then add 2 liters of cold water. Allow 15-30 minutes for your feet to soak.
4. Apple cider vinegar therapy.
Foot odor may also be treated with an apple cider vinegar poultice. Combine 0.5 L vinegar and 200 mL of warm water in a mixing bowl. Dip a piece of bandage in the solution for 20 minutes prior to applying it to your feet. Then, just allow the skin to air dry.
5. Use essential oils for aromatherapy.
Lavender essential oil will be ideal. It has a bactericidal effect in addition to masking feet odor. Make a foot soak with 2 drops of oil in 3/4L of water or rub your feet with just a few droplets. If going with the first solution, soak your feet in it for 10-15 minutes.
6. Turn your socks inside out to wash them.
They will be completely cleansed of skin cells and germs in this manner. Keep in mind that synthetic socks should be avoided. And when at home, go barefoot or change your socks. When you walk, germs from the floor stick to your socks, which then multiply in a wet environment.
7. Apply deodorant on your feet.
Chemicals in deodorants assist to decrease perspiration. So just apply deodorant to your dry feet after an evening shower to help keep them fresh and dry.
8. Seek medical advice.
Go to the doctor if your feet are not only smelling terrible but also itching and peeling. The feet odor may be caused by some form of parasitic fungi, such as mycosis.
9. Keep your shoes clean.
Wash the exterior thoroughly. With an antiseptic solution, give the insoles and shoelaces a bath. Then, using a q-tip soaked in antiseptics, wipe the insides of the shoes.
10. Keep them dry, too.

You should always have two pairs of shoes you can alternate between for each of the four seasons. If you don’t have a spare pair of shoes and they’re wet, there is something that might do the trick. Simply stuff crumpled newspapers inside and let them absorb the moisture overnight. Alternatively, you could always use a clothes dryer.
