It’s busy for your body to adapt to change. For example, your blood flow makes your organs warm during cold weather. However, it helps to be careful when you get cold feet because you’ll feel colder. Fortunately, you have many alternatives to solving this dilemma.

Aside from cold feet, you may have the following:

  • Weakness and pain in your limbs
  • Changes in the skin color if you’re stressed or cold
  • Feeling of numbness as you relieve stress or get warm

2. Causes of Cold Feet

If you have diabetes, you may experience several other problems, such as:

  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Peripheral Artery Disease
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Raynaud’s Phenomenon or Disease
  • Anemia
  • Buerger’s Disease
  • High Cholesterol
  • Stress

3. What to Do if You Have Cold Feet

1. Soak Feet in Warm Water

Warm water stimulates blood circulation, so you better soak your feet before bed. First, however, ensure that the water is between 36 – 38 degrees Celsius or 96 – 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. After that, you can even use it as a water therapy session.

How to Soak Feet 

Leave your feet in tepid water for 15 minutes. Don’t forget to wipe them dry, then apply moisturizer.

2. Use Plant Oils to Massage Feet

If you have olive, avocado, or coconut oil, you can use it to rub your feet. You’ll notice your feet getting warm because these oils help circulate your blood. Moreover, they have anti-inflammatory properties and keep your skin healthy.

Warm your chosen oil, then massage it on your feet for 15 minutes. Wear cotton socks, and make it a daily habit.

3. Ginger Tea for Blood Circulation

Ginger makes your body warm and helps blood circulation. Thus, it makes sense to drink ginger tea to warm your feet.

Cut ginger into pieces, and boil them—strain before drinking.

4. Consume Foods with Vitamin B and Iron

If you often get cold feet, you may lack vitamin B to improve blood flow. Moreover, iron helps transport oxygen to your body.

Iron-rich foods: red meat, tofu, nuts, baked beans, spinach, oats, etc.

Vitamin B-rich foods: beef, salmon, tuna, clams, eggs, milk, other dairy products, etc.

5. Exercise Daily

Daily exercise can warm your feet. For example, jumping jacks, doing step exercises, and walking can increase your feet’ temperature.

You can start by step exercises using a platform by going up and down from it.

Final Thoughts

Do you often have cold feet at night? You don’t have to suffer because you can do something about it. However, if you have diabetes, you can expect cold feet and other medical conditions.
