If you are experiencing severe vomiting and excessive diarrhea, then that could be a sign of a virus called ‘norovirus’. This is known as a stomach flu and/or bug as well.
According to experts, this is an infection and those who get exposed to it start to deal with very severe diarrhea, excessive vomiting, and relatively bad stomach pain anywhere from 12 to 48 hours after the exposure.
Other symptoms can include fever, nausea, headaches, and finally body aches. What this virus does is it basically causes inflammation in the intestines and/or stomach. This is what actually triggers the upset stomach and the vomiting.
Officials say that the number of people who are catching the virus is on the rise in the United States. The number of cases yearly is usually around 2500, but this year, it has risen significantly.
It was reported that this time last year there were only around 70 cases, but now it’s over 400. This means the situation requires some serious planning in order to be managed, because if the outbreak continues, the cases can get higher.
This virus has been proven to be extremely contagious and the worst part is that it can infect people of all ages, there is really no difference when it comes to catching this virus. Experts explain that those who have the virus already, can easily infect others with just a couple of particles.
