1. Have a Good Stretch Before You Walk

If you’re going to take a walk, you should do the stretching exercise first. Stretch your hips, shoulders, neck, and your back. Why should you do it? Doing so will prepare your body for some walking, preventing pains and aches.

2. Take Several Short Walks Daily

Your work may confine you to your seat for extended periods; therefore, you should stretch and take a quick walk every hour. This short walking exercise will generate benefits for your body. Moreover, these few steps can add to your total efforts for the day.

3. Add Music to Your Walking Exercise

If you love listening to music, you can play your favorite tune as you walk to make the routine more enjoyable. You may even play white noise to relax, or listen to your favorite podcasts.

4. Try a New Route

If you walk outdoors, you can make your walking exercise more exciting by exploring a new trail or park. Moreover, you can take a short hike and alternate it with your regular walking exercise around the block.

5. Drink Water

Remember to bring a water bottle every time you get into your walking exercise. For example, if you’re only going for a quick walk around the office, don’t forget to hydrate yourself when you come back. Moreover, you may drink sparkling water or add some lemon to it.

6. Wear Your Workout Clothes

You may not like changing to workout clothes, but you should. It would help if you had comfortable clothes to have the right mindset for your walking exercise. Moreover, your comfy clothing may push you to walk further or add some routines to your steps.

7. Add a Strength Boosting Exercise

Why don’t you try to carry weights as you walk? This additional routine will build your strength as you sweat during your walking exercise.

You may add light weights as you walk further for some improvements in your bone health.

8. Do a Power Walk

Increase the intensity of your walking exercise to boost your cardiovascular health. You may increase your pace and maybe jog for a while.

9. Update Your Family and Friends

You can do other tasks with your walking exercise. For example, why don’t you call a family member or friend to update them about your life? Likewise, if you need to take a conference call as you walk, no one will stop you from doing so. Just ensure you’re not going to do a presentation, though.
