Tired of buying more and more new items for your house? Well, here are some ways that you can recycle old items to make beautiful and useful new things:
Reusing and recycling old material that is present in your house is the most wonderful idea. Not only will you show off your intellectual prowess, but you will also save time and energy on certain repetitive tasks that would require you to go out every time you need a tool or item.
But these are not the only reasons you should recycle and reuse your old things. Recycling is crucial, especially when you look at the big picture. With carbon emissions at an all time high, the threat of global warming and its harmful effects are more prevalent now than they were 30 years ago. Partly because the human population has gone through an exponential increase. This means that we need more grain, more cultivation land, more industries, and at the end of the day, more carbon.
Though the problem is very severe, we can each do our part by making sure that, with a few simple tasks, we reduce the waste that would otherwise be burnt in an inferno.

Here are the most important items you should recycle at home:
1. Plastic Bottles
Plastic bottles are everywhere. They come in many different shapes, sizes, colors, and textures. But the fundamental characteristic doesn’t change; they take up a great deal of space. And that is exactly what we are going to deal with using this hack:
Get yourself a plastic bottle, of any shape or size, and cut the bottle right down the middle along the transverse plane. This way, you’ll have two new objects. A cone, which can be used in myriad ways to control the flow of water. And a pot that can be used as a storage device.
The pot can be used, coyly, as a pot. Fill it with some soil and toss in a seed or two, and you have got yourself a new houseplant! There are several benefits to this. Since it’s made of plastic, it won’t deteriorate and also, it is impermeable. This means that any water you add to the container will not seep out and will eventually be used up by the plant. It will also keep insects away to some extent because of its inorganic nature. As a bonus, you can even attach cords to its sides and hang it from the ceiling to create a hanging garden.
You can use the other half as a funnel. Whether it’s for pouring engine oil down through the engine assembly or from a bowl to a narrow opening, the functions are limitless if you are creative enough.
2. Jars
Jars make perfect recycling items. Old jars that you buy for marmalade or Nutella can be used again. Albeit, this time to store your own ingredients and become a storage facility for your own personal pantry. Jars have the added benefit of being robust and resilient; which means that they can withstand some force and not break easily. Plus, you can even use them for decoration purposes, using dry/artificial flowers and lights.
