Contrary to popular belief, bunions are not only caused by wearing high heels. Genetics and heredity can also be to blame. Although wearing high heels frequently can exacerbate the issue, there are natural ways to lessen the agony.

For instance, massaging your bunions is a great way to deal with the issue. Therefore, never consider surgery until all other choices have been exhausted.

1. Use a Lacrosse or Tennis Ball

Putting a lacrosse or tennis ball on the ground and beginning to roll your feet over it backward and forward is a pretty basic workout you may do.

You can still do the activity if your foot has no bunion. Your feet will feel much more at ease as the extra tightness is relieved.

2. The Towel Exercise

Placing a blanket on the ground and pulling it toward you with just your toes is another easy workout you may do.

You can stand or sit down while performing this exercise five times. Your feet will become more robust due to this toe movement, which will also maintain flexibility.

3. Lift Your Heels

Begin by bending your knees slightly while still upright. After that, progressively raise your heels until your toes are supporting all of your weight.

If you have severe bunions, this may feel painful and uncomfortable, but you should continue trying small amounts. Bunions will likely stop regenerating as your toe muscles get stronger.

4. Walk on Sand

Depending on where you are, this may not be feasible for everyone, although the sand is a fantastic foot massage.

Your feet and toes will feel more at ease and strengthened. In addition, it will be helpful for people with arthritis brought on by their bunions.

5. Soak Feet in Cold or Warm Water

Your feet will enjoy it if you bathe them in a warm tub of Epsom salt water at the end of a demanding day.

Simply fill the tub to the ankles, then soak your feet for 10 to 15 minutes.

Alternatively, you can opt for an ice-cold bath by immersing your feet in cold water for a minimum of 10 minutes before retiring for the night. In this manner, all inflammation and swelling will be reduced.

6. Wear Splints

The pain that bunions cause is often lessened by wearing splints at night, according to many people.

They relieve strain on all toes while preventing the first and second toes from slamming into each other.

Wearing them while sleeping at night is possible. But even though they can lessen the pain, they may not completely fix your bunion condition.

7. Use Olive Oil Massage

You can maintain the flexibility of your toes by massaging your feet daily. Your joints will move much more quickly if you rub them with little warm olive oil.

You may significantly improve the circulation in your toes by massaging them for fifteen minutes at a time. In addition, moving the toes around will be simpler if you apply olive oil.

8. Use Turmeric

Many creams contain the active component capsaicin, which lessens inflammation and pain. You can try putting it on your bunions since it is also in turmeric.

Combine turmeric and water to produce a paste, and apply it to your bunions. It must be left out overnight to give the turmeric time to work.
