Because of possible fatal allergic reactions to an unidentified component, a recall of milk chocolate bars was announced this week. Fears about unreported milk in more than one thousand Red Velvet Milk Chocolate Bars led the U.S. FDA to publish an announcement that Electric City Sweets, a manufacturer in Pennsylvania, had withdrawn the recalled product.

1. People with Sensitivity to Milk Are in Great Risk
Consuming these goods increases the likelihood of an acute or fatal allergic response in those with milk intolerance or extreme sensitivity to milk. The FDA has released numerous recall notices for a variety of food goods within the last few weeks. Listeria or salmonella contaminants, in addition to the presence of unreported items like milk or nuts, were the underlying causes of these recalls.
According to the US FDA, the recall was started when a customer brought the problem to the attention of the store from whom they had bought the impacted item. The item that included milk had been wrapped and marked with the allergen on its front surface, but it did not include the necessary disclosure that milk constituted a component in the ingredient list.

2. No Severe Allergic Reaction Cases Were Reported Thus Far
The FDA announced that the Red Velvet Milk Chocolate Bars that were withdrawn from store shelves were sold both on the Electric City Sweets webpage and in bulk to retailers across several US states.
The notice stated that no illnesses linked to the recalled product had been documented as of yet. If any customers with milk intolerance or sensitivity to milk have purchased the chocolate bars, they are encouraged to get in touch with Electric City Sweets via phone or online.
3. More Food Recalls Were Announced Lately by the US FDA
A map displaying a variety of food recalls resulting from possible listeria monocytogenes contamination was released by Newsweek magazine a few weeks ago. The FDA announced tons of food recalls in the early weeks of February, which involved kits for making chicken taco meals, salad packages, and soybean sprouting plants.
Numerous US states announced separate recalls related to listeria monocytogenes, which is characterized by a high temperature, muscle pains, feeling sick, throwing up, and bowel movements.

Fears that the separately packaged Magic Brownie alongside the 4 Pack edition may have contained unreported walnuts on the ingredient list, which could cause serious allergic responses, prompted Zingerman’s Bakehouse of Michigan to issue a recall notice earlier this last month.
