COVID has been a liability for all of us to live with since it first started, the different variants do not make it any easier either. Restrictions were starting to lift, but with the latest variant now called Omicron, experts are warning against traveling to these places.
Some of these places are top tourist destinations, but unfortunately, travels to and from those places need to be put on hold until further notice.
Keep reading to find out more about this.
First we have got Spain. CDC is warning the American citizens against traveling to Spain in this current situation. Spain is considered to be the second most visited country for tourists after France but cases have been out of control recently that it is best to simply refrain from going altogether.
The infection rate recently was about 511 cases in 100,000 people. Even the minister himself came forward to say that though it is not necessarily a huge number, it should not and will not be taken lightly, so until then, people are still getting their vaccines and staying protected.
Aside from Spain, CDC has added 7 new destinations in the very high risk list. Those destinations are Monaco, Bonaire, Chad, Finland, Gibraltar, Lebanon, San Marino.
If a country starts reporting on more than 500 cases per 100,000 within the 28 recent days, then it gets added to that list immediately.
This can help keep people up to date with the status of the destination they want to go to, which in turn helps them stay protected as well as not contaminate anyone else.
However, there are still some concerns regarding Finland, because experts are worried that citizens who have not had their vaccination will contract the virus from those who did.
CDC in general does not advise traveling internationally unless you have had your vaccination. It is less likely to get or spread the virus, but risks that need to be taken in consideration remain,
that’s why it is important to stay safe at all times. Traveling nationally, however, to meet your loved ones for the holiday once you have been fully vaccinated seems a little bit more doable and within safety restrictions.
Nothing is 100% guaranteed, but being surrounded by people whom you know have been fully vaccinated and boosted, gives you a sense of safety and comfort that allows for a worry-free gathering, and lets you focus on the company of your loved ones instead.
