There are multiple kinds of olive oils available on the market. Extra virgin, pomace, and pure olive oil are some terms used when you purchase this oil in the market. Apart from the health benefits that the different olive oils provide, they are also great for moisturizing your skin. In this dry weather, putting on a light layer of olive oil can help you lock in the moisture in your hands.

However, one ingredient makes a magical combination with this oil. Your hands are probably dehydrated because of the weather. Plus, the cracks on your feet probably make you want to wear closed shoes even in this unbearable heat.

When your hands and feet remain dry for a long time, they develop wrinkles. So, they will soon look like an elderly person’s hands if you don’t do anything about it. So, it’s time to ditch the drying hand soap and change your hygiene definition if you don’t want to end up with weary-looking hands and feet.

A natural brown sugar scrub can go a long way toward ridding your skin of dead cells and replenishing it with moisture. Here are the steps for making this natural hand scrub.

Step 1: Mix Olive Oil and Brown Sugar

The first step is to mix a little amount of olive oil with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and apply it to your palms. Make sure that you don’t use white or confectioner’s sugar because the brown version is a gentler scrub. Also, confectioner’s sugar is a no-no because it will make a paste with olive oil, which won’t do the job.

Step 2: Rub It on Your Hands

The next step is to rub this coarse hand scrub onto your hands and feet. This scrub can even help you remove strawberry legs and ingrown hair on your hands. Scrub it for a good 10-15 minutes. Then, leave it for ten more minutes for the sugar to work on your skin.

Step 3: Rinse It Off

Once the sugar and olive oil have penetrated the skin, rinse it with cold water. Don’t use warm water because it dries out the skin. Make sure that you don’t use hand soap when rinsing; otherwise, it will strip the olive oil from your skin.

Step 4: Change Your Weekly Routine

Just after rinsing, add a moisturizing cream to your feet and hands. Change your definition of “hand and feet hygiene” because, after seeing the results, you will want to include this in your weekly routine!

Final Words

Unsurprisingly, some people have dry skin and feet even in the humid summer months. This natural hand scrub is excellent for removing dry and flaky skin. The sugar peels off the dead skin cells while the oil replenishes the moisture. Together, both work to give you that supple, soft skin that will make everyone envious!
