Stop Taking These Supplements, the FDA Warns

When it comes to supplements, chances are you never stop to think if they could be bad for you! If anything, they are supposed to be the exact opposite, and that is how they are marketed as, completing whatever your body seems to lack in terms of nutrients.

Even if they do not seem to work for you, then it is rarely a big deal either because more often than not, no harm is done. However, that may not always be the case. 

Supplements can be just as harmful for you as specific medications you are not supposed to be taking, anything that goes into your body will obviously have an impact on it.

The risk is even bigger seeing that most of them can just be sold without the FDA approving them, which leads to the FDA issuing many warnings and taking action against specific brands and companies who are selling these things.

Seeing that the FDA does not really approve all of them, the supplements market is not very regulated. This leads to many companies coming out with many supplements that are not safe for consumption if they were made with unsafe ingredients.

If a component is deemed to be unsafe by the FDA upon inspection, then it is adulterated. “Adulterated” simply means whatever contains anything that is not safe for consumption. 

Unfortunately, many companies were called out for selling supplements that were considered adulterated. On the 9th of May, the FDA issued a new warning to these companies who are selling the adulterated supplements. 

The ten different companies include Steel Supplements, Inc; Nutritional Sales and Customer Service LLC; New York Nutrition Company (American Metabolix); MaxMuscle; Complete Nutrition LLC; Killer Labz (Performax Labs Inc); IronMag Labs; Assault Labs; Exclusive Nutrition Products, LLC (Black Dragon Labs); and Advanced Nutritional Supplements, LLC.

The FDA has given them collectively about 15 working days to respond back and give whatever reasoning they had as to why their supplements were not violating any safety measures.

If in any case a response was not issued during the time given, then legal action will be taken towards them. So if you are familiar with any product from said companies, stop taking them immediately until further notice.
