Blood sugar can get too high at times and when that happens, that condition is called hyperglycemia. This is something often experienced by diabetics.
So obviously, the only way to control hyperglycemia and make sure it does not exceed the healthy levels it is supposed to be on is to control the source, which in this case is diabetes.
Controlling the source means being able to recognize the very early symptoms, no matter how mild or insignificant they may seem.

The first sign that your blood sugar level needs your attention is being unbelievably thirsty. This might feel like you are always dehydrated no matter how much liquid you manage to get in your system, it almost seems like you never had any of it.
That actually is partially true, because when there are overwhelming amounts of sugar running in your blood, then your muscles and tissues get dehydrated actually.
Drinking more water can also lead to using the bathroom a lot more and feeling hungry. Because again, your tissues are dehydrated and quite tired so they keep needing all these things for energy but the resistance the sugar creates does not allow for that.
The second sign you need to watch out for is sweet smelling urine. This might sound a little weird at first, but when the sugar level is quite high, it begins to clear out through urine as well through the kidneys. So keep an eye on that one. Another sign as well would be blurry vision.
This does not really concern a specific age group, anyone from those in their early 20s to 60s can experience blurry vision due to a high blood sugar level, that’s why it can come as quite a surprise when they are required to check their blood sugar when they go see an eye doctor, which is seemingly unrelated, but more often than not, those who have diabetes don’t even know it.

Last but not least, fatigue. Fatigue is also another sign that is incredibly telling when it comes to this. So if you are experiencing strange, prominent, consistent fatigue out of nowhere and that you cannot explain, then maybe you should consult a professional and get your blood sugar levels checked as soon as you can.
