The coronavirus is still in full swing around the globe but through vaccinations and precautionary measures, many countries have been able to control and curtail the spread of the virus.
This means that despite being prevalent in many parts of the world, the coronavirus is not as big of a threat as it used to be. It can be toned down to a more innocuous version of the seasonal flu, as many experts put it.
This virus cannot be annihilated completely, but through adequate safety precautions, we can bring down the pandemic to the state of a steady endemic, which is more than a bargain.
As a matter of fact, this might already be the case for most of the world as the virus has been seen bringing up symptoms in people that are akin to the symptoms of the seasonal flu or the occasional cold.

This means that the disease is in a passive-aggressive state and can only do real harm when people have weak immune systems.
Such is the case with infants or the elderly whose bodies are not attuned to the changes in biochemistry and that are generally more prone and susceptible to diseases.
Preventative measures should still be kept in check for these people to ensure that they do not succumb to what is already a treatable disease.
The diminishing power of the virus does by no means mean an end to inoculations and vaccination. On the contrary, to ensure that an adequate portion of the population can safely sustain the blow from this very toxic strain of mutating virus, our bodies should be able to produce the necessary antibodies to fight off the pathogen.
Also, this will greatly reduce the overall efficacy of the virus because of herd immunity.
What’s more, this does not mean that people can stop treating the existence of the disease lightly, though it is not more of a threat these days.
Nonetheless, it should be noted that many people are still not vaccinated against the virus and to ensure their health remains intact, we must still follow standard protocols.
This means diligently wearing a mask and using hand sanitizers especially if you are visiting people in the hospital. But there are relaxations in place now as well. For example, people now have full access to public places including movie theaters and restaurants to name a few.
However, as we have seen before the advent of the virus, there have only been new and more virulent strains that take the original’s place.
The health authorities do make it a point for the general public to be aware that this trend in the virus’ biochemistry is not going anywhere and that there will be new strains that will come out when the current strains no longer serve to get the job done.
This mutation is a survival mechanism for the virus and is inevitable. So, suffice it to say, covid is not going anywhere.
