These last two have anti-inflammatory properties and prevent cellular oxidation, respectively.

2. Olive Oil

Olive oil is a terrific source of healthy fats. These can efficiently dissolve toxins in the body. So, the lipids in extra virgin olive oil are the best liver support as they take on some of the organ’s responsibilities.

3. Leafy Greens

Leafy greens shield the liver from metals, chemicals, and pesticides that may come with your food. Besides, they are a wonderful source of vitamins for liver health.

Some of these include spinach and lettuce (which boost bile flow, helping expel toxins), beetroot (a natural blood cleanser), broccoli and brussels sprouts (some of the best greens that enhance the production of enzymes in the liver).

4. Green Tea

The best tea for liver health is undoubtedly green tea. It is rich in antioxidants that also help shield the body against cancer.

If you need caffeine to function, you might want to swap your coffee or black tea to green. It is the best way to detox your liver while keeping you energized and hydrated.

5. Grapefruit

Grapefruit is an underrated citrus fruit that is not only high in vitamin C but also glutathione. The latter is a substance that the liver discharges, which is then used to restore tissues, produce proteins, and for immune system recovery.

If you are looking for a natural liver repair solution, you might want to start including grapefruit in your daily diet.

6. Walnuts

Walnuts have high amounts of the aforementioned arginine and glutathione. They also consist of large amounts of omega 3 fatty acids that support the liver’s function.

But walnuts are a great source of antioxidants and unsaturated fats, as well. These prevent fat build-ups in the liver and help fortify cells.

7. Apples

If you decide to DIY a liver detox drink, make sure to include apples. They are a good source of pectin, which cleanses toxins off of the digestive tract, hence easing the liver’s job.

8. Turmeric

Turmeric is very rich in an antioxidant called curcumin, which acts as an inflammatory and has many benefits not just for your liver but overall health.

It also shields bile ducts and boosts the production of bile while cleaning the liver. Plus, it rejuvenates cells and helps the body process alcohol and other harmful substances.
