Who would not want a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease in the era when it claims more than 17.9 million lives each year? But would you eat bland tinned fish for this benefit?

Many people opt for delicious fish meals, like salmon sashimi or fish and chips, when they want to eat fish. However, no one would think about eating tinned fish. And that, too, for lunch, dinner, and snacks!

Although salmon sashimi and a yummy tuna sandwich also have the benefits of fish, you wouldn’t be able to take out so much time every day when you’re on the fish week.

I experimented on my body to assess the daily effects of eating tinned fish. Before I discuss the results, let me explain how fish is vital to your body.

1. Benefits of Eating Fish

Nature has packed fish meat with nutrients essential for humans. Fish consumption’s benefits are multiple; the ones below prevail:

  • Source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Fish is by all means the most famous supplier of these acids. These nutrients are not naturally occurring in our bodies. Therefore, you can consume Omega 3 supplements or fulfill the body’s needs by eating foods that naturally contain this mineral.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, the best Omega 3 in fish gets you glowing skin in just a few days. Fish is also rich in protein, calcium, iron, and vitamin D. Our body requires all of these nutrients.

They repair the muscles in the body, fortify the hair and nails, and improve the skin complexion. This is why you can get glowing skin when you consume Omega 3 supplements or eat fish regularly.

  • Great for Weight Watchers

The Cleveland Clinic also found that when you eat fish, you get a lot of nutrients packed in a small amount. Therefore, if you eat fish as a snack, you can meet the nutrient needs of the body.

So, a light lunch with vegetables or fruit can be enough for you. The protein in the fish also keeps you satiated for hours since the human body takes a lot of time to process and digest proteins.

  • Overall Health

Fish is also essential for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, dementia, and blood clots. It also aids with maintaining muscle mass as you age. However, when you eat fish that is deep fried or has add-ons like cream and cheese you undermine its benefits.

2. Fish for a Week – The Result

I saw a notable glow on my skin when I ate fish for a week. My nails were also shining, and I felt more satiated during lunchtime. I lost 4 pounds in the week when I consumed only tinned fish! This is because after eating fish I didn’t feel the urge to eat sweet desserts.

I also didn’t crave carbs like pasta or sandwiches when I ate tinned fish. So, this was a good change and a habit that I wouldn’t want to leave.
