We all have knives in our homes. In our kitchens, this tool is among the most indispensable items. It is handy, useful, and sometimes even eye-catching. However, the fact that it can cut, puts its handlers at risk too.
You have probably gotten a laceration from a knife or a paper cutter at least once. When you get a lacerated wound, you must keep a bandage on to keep the bacteria from infecting it. But what if you don’t even open the packaging of your new knife and get a cut?
Target Superstore and other stores like Target sell thousands of product categories. Although these products are quality assured, sometimes the product’s hazards come to light when customer complaints occur.
1. Blue Ridge Utility Knife – Product Recall?
A similar thing happened with two customers who bought knives from Target Superstore. They bought the popular Blue Ridge Utility Knife, available at most Target store locations.

This knife has a retractable blade, so the customers handled their packaging without thinking it would harm them. However, the blade was poking out of the plastic packaging, and both the customers got lacerated wounds.
Around 36,000 knives were sold at Target store locations across the country. These knives have the code BR922OU printed on them. They were sold exclusively at the retail chain and not at other stores like Target.
There is no product recall for this knife. However, Target has announced that customers should stay cautious when they remove the knife from the packaging. The knife blade poking out of the plastic packaging causes the hazard of a lacerated wound.
2. What to Do If I Have Complaints
If you have any complaints about the knife or any questions, you can contact your nearest Target or call their helpline. If you have ordered it online and would like to exchange it, you can use the Target store locator to go to your nearest outlet for the job.
The plastic packaging is a little flimsier than usual, because of which the knife blade could damage or injure anyone. However, Target has assured us that the product itself is not defective. So, remove the knife from the packaging cautiously, and you won’t have any injuries.
Also, if the packaging of your knife poses any safety concerns, you can freely return it to the store.
Final Words
Target, Walmart, and many other superstores have their own branded products. These goods often pass through quality checks but are recalled due to an unidentified hazard.
This time, the product posed laceration hazards because of the packaging that it penetrated. The product was a famous knife sold across Target stores in the USA.
