Lupus is a tricky autoimmune disease which is challenging to diagnose as it manifests itself as many other known illnesses, making it easy for doctors to confuse it with another disease. Accordingly, identifying this autoimmune inflammatory disease is usually done through excluding other illnesses.

However, if you notice the occurrence of more than four of the following symptoms and their repetitiveness or continuance, you might want to take a lupus diagnostic test and eventually get a lupus treatment!

1.  Muscle Aches and Fever

Classic symptoms of the common flu include chills, fever, muscle aches, and even drowsiness. However, a lot of people are also unaware that these symptoms could indicate that you have lupus.

The flu is different from lupus in that the former heals in four to ten days, while the latter’s symptoms can recur every few weeks or months. It is surprising to learn that 1.5 million Americans suffer from lupus, which is more frequent than you might imagine but more difficult to diagnose than most illnesses.

2. Unanticipated Weight Loss

Potentially one of the earliest indications of lupus is sudden, unexpected weight loss. Your thyroid and hormones can become out of balance due to lupus. This autoimmune inflammatory disease causes your system to harm itself. This can have an impact on how much you weigh. Additional symptoms of lupus can include weight gain.

3. Small Neck Bumps

Small organs called lymph nodes are found all over your body and aid in removing toxic chemicals and preventing infection. Although they are normally invisible to the naked eye, they can become noticeably swollen and unpleasant to the touch when they are operating at full capacity, as in the event of lupus. These neck bumps are further felt below your ears, below your jawline, and all over your neck.

4. Butterfly Rash

One of the most unusual signs of lupus is a crimson, butterfly rash covering the apples of your cheeks and nose; it is typically brought on by sunshine. A lupus butterfly rash can last for weeks after you have embarked on exposure to sunlight, unlike a regular heat-related rash, which may initially appear to be nothing more than a heat-related flush on your face.

5. Lupus Fatigue

Lupus fatigue is not your typical exhaustion; it makes you feel as though you are unable to move from your bed. Extreme weariness can also be an indication of anemia or decreased red blood cell counts, which is a common lupus complaint.

Although fatigue is not a sign of lupus on its own—there are a variety of other possible causes—it is worth taking into consideration if it is one of a lengthy list of underlying indicators.

6. Skin Blisters

Does your heel have a blister? Make a shoe repair call. What about a cluster of skin blisters within the oral cavity or nose? Dial a medical professional without delay.

Skin lesions on the membranes of the mouth are one of the typical indications of lupus, but there are other conditions, like STIs, that can create discomforting skin blisters on your body.

7. Hair Loss

Although anybody can be affected by lupus, women around 15- and 44-years old account for 90% of all diagnoses. Hair loss constitutes one of the many obvious signs of lupus. In a short amount of time, you might notice that your hair begins to thin and lose a lot of density.

8. Freezing Hands

Is there a problem other than simple inadequate circulation? It might be Raynaud’s disease if your hands or feet frequently become very cold, turn violet, or feel paralyzed. This type of syndrome is a medical condition that can indicate lupus and impair blood flow in the limbs.

9. Joint Pain

Unpleasant joint pain should not be an issue until later in life, right? Regretfully, a lot of young people with lupus suffer from arthritis-like sensations in their joints, particularly in their legs. This joint pain symptoms usually starts painful in the early hours of the day and becomes better later on.

10. Chest Discomfort

When experiencing chest discomfort, every individual’s first terrified thought is of a heart attack. However, if your physician rules out heart problems, it can be a sign of lupus. The autoimmune condition can result in generalized body edema, which can cause persistent, vague chest discomfort.

You can also feel breathlessness if your airways are the main organs impacted. See a doctor promptly if you get soreness in your chest area, though, as it can potentially indicate several other exceptionally serious disorders.

11. Compromised Mental Well-Being

Any part of the human body can be attacked by lupus, including the brain, which can occasionally result in hallucinations. Many people think that they have schizophrenia or are going insane, but in actuality, they are suffering from lupus.

Hallucinations, paranoia, disorientation, irritability, and seizures are examples of lupus’s neurological manifestations. In fact, you can be exhibiting a lupus indicator if you are going through these symptoms and have never had mental well-being disorders.

12. Swollen Joints

Lupus impacts mostly the kidneys, which in turn bring about swollen joints. Kidney disease typically causes fluid retention that is the underlying reason behind swollen joints. If you have kidney disease, your healthcare provider might suggest that you take a lupus diagnostic test.

13. Repetitive Miscarriages

Recurrent miscarriages remain among the most heartbreaking effects of lupus, which can create issues with coagulation of the blood. While it might not be difficult to become pregnant, maintaining a pregnancy can seem unachievable. Your periods may also become heavier or more irregular as a result of the clotting.

Although it is not the most frequent reason for fertility problems in women, it is worth having an examination for lupus if you are having trouble getting pregnant to get a lupus treatment.
