We take many precautions to protect ourselves and those we love, the majority of which we undoubtedly do not give much thought to. Every day, we read cautionary labels, heed professional advice, and rinse our produce to get rid of any harmful bacteria.

However, as a recent caution from the police department pointed out, there are some things that can be a hidden safety hazard.

Continue reading to learn what objects law enforcement considers harmful to public safety!

1. Many Seemingly Harmless Objects May Be Hazardous

Police issue warnings in an effort to maintain public safety, but regrettably, they frequently stem from persistent criminal conduct. Police just asked the general population to refrain from picking up cash off the sidewalk last week because it might contain fentanyl.

The police department reports that two incidents involving people picking up folded paper money and discovering it containing white powder have been registered. Officials later verified that the substance was confirmed to contain fentanyl and methamphetamine.

It seems that other seemingly harmless objects could be dangerous in addition to dollar bills. There is another item that law enforcement officers have warned people not to own because it may be deadly.

2. Very Realistic Toy Guns Are Creating Chaos

Given the recent mass murders that have occurred across the United States, the subject of gun laws is especially divisive. We hear viewpoints from all types of individuals every day; some want more stringent gun control and ownership regulations, while others want to keep things as they are.

Toy weapons are the subject of a warning from Green Bay police, which may surprise you given the topic’s relative insignificance. Officers were presented with gel-splatter pistols as they arrived at a suspicious scene.

Some of these weapons could pass for genuine ones due to their extremely realistic appearance. Gel pellets are shot out of these toy guns, and getting hit by one might hurt. Despite not being lethal weapons, these can nonetheless inflict harm and present a safety hazard.

3. Social Media Trends Gave Rise to These Toys

The worries that officers had regarding these products were shared by commentators on the Green Bay Police Department page. Situations like this get even riskier when someone misidentifies a splatter gun as an authentic one.

Social media trends recently demonstrate the misuse of these miniature non-lethal weapons to shoot people from rooftops and vehicles. In addition to being against gun laws, these challenges are hazardous.

Due to this, multiple officers are taken away from the field and required to look into the occurrence. The gel pellets may not hurt all the time, but anyone who thinks they have a real pistol pointing at them will undoubtedly grow afraid.

4. There Have Been More Tragic Outcomes in Some Circumstances

The craze for toy splatter guns has risen. A whole consignment of these toys was sold in a single day, according to a local merchant. A tragedy using these weapons occurred in Mississippi just recently when an attempted joke resulted in the death of an adolescent.

Teenagers wearing ski masks and aiming realistic-looking pistols were reported by the Police Department to have driven to a friend’s house. Not realizing they were toy weapons, the teenager fired with a real gun back, murdering the fifteen-year-old. The Police Department came to the conclusion that although the incident might have been prevented, the assault was lawful.
