However, moderation and quantity management are important because one is not always able to completely avoid harmful foods.

A cardiology doctor revealed some of the items that, in order to maintain optimum health, he tries to limit or avoid. These are eight things that are on the list!

1. Processed Meat Products

The heart doctor has a medical background of coronary disease and he follows a vegetarian diet. Even prior to giving up meat products altogether, he consumed only minimal amounts of meat-based protein because of the abundance of calories, saturated fats, and other added components.

Excessive consumption of processed meat products can have negative effects on health beyond just the heart. According to the CDC, consuming processed meats also increases the risk of cancer.

2. Processed, Salty Snacks

The tiny packets of crumbly, salty snacks that you may get in the dispenser should be avoided. Convenience is highly valued in our society as a whole, which is fantastic, but this does not imply that boxed junk food with added sodium and sugar is the only option.

The precise foods we require are given to us by nature. These simple, portable, and naturally occurring foods comprise carrots, pears, and other fresh produce; they are also high in fiber and nutrients. Many dietitians believe that simple carbohydrates pose a greater threat than fat.

3. Sugary Treats

Enjoy additional sugars sparingly, if at all, according to heart health experts. You should limit your intake of sugary treats like cakes, ice cream, and granola bars to once per week at most, and only eat small quantities to avoid consuming too many calories. Your primary objective is to sustain a healthy weight by especially following a balanced diet.

4. Excessive Protein

In this nation, protein seems to be the obsession of the masses. It is not unusual to witness someone consuming twice as much protein as their daily requirements, which strains the kidneys and could lead to additional issues in the future.

Another problem is that obtaining extra protein frequently means sacrificing other food groups in favor of meat products that are high in saturated fats, which can lead to high cholesterol levels, bad cholesterol. 

5. Fast Food

This cardiology doctor has not eaten fast food in years. There are certain fast-food establishments that allow you to create a decently nutritious dish with fresh veggies. 

However, the majority of hamburger and fried chicken places should be eschewed as there are very few nutritional options available. Simple carbohydrates are often found in large amounts in even non-fried foods. 

6. Energy Drinks

The doctor usually steers clear of energy drinks due to their extra sugar content and substances that could cause problems such as arrhythmia or elevated blood pressure. 

This in no way suggests that you should abstain from caffeine. Regularly consuming tea or coffee in proportion is quite beneficial. 

Pay attention to what you place into your mug. When you top black coffee with sugar, whipping cream, caramel sauce, or other ingredients, it becomes an energy bomb.

7. Too Much Salt

Hardly any American does not consume excessive amounts of salt in their food. Getting three or four times the daily required quantity is not unusual. 

Moreover, certain products—like cereal, pickles served with sandwiches, and chicken breasts brined to maintain their moisture and juiciness—may have added salt.

Know the amount of salt you are consuming by reading the labels. Salt is necessary for life, yet a diet heavy in sodium causes hypertension.

8. Organic Coconut Oil

More saturated fat than grease is present in organic coconut oil. In certain researches, it is employed to cause atherosclerosis in rats and other animals, essentially causing sludge to accumulate in the pipes.

Although doctors do not recommend eating too much of it, it alternatively works fantastically topically and is a potent skin and hair moisturizer.
