When buying things off shelves, it can sometimes come out as quite convenient that the product lists all of the things you need in the contents section.
Well, this might not always be the case as time and time again we have seen incidents spring up all over the country where the contents, or rather the lack thereof will have led to the deaths of certain people who were unwitting accomplices to their own end.
For example, in Walmart, 3 people died when they accidentally ingested a salad dressing that actually contained some small amounts of soy and nuts.
Needless To say, the people with the severe nut allergy died on the spot and there were many others who were hospitalized and in serious conditions. This just goes to show that you can’t just pick up whatever you see off the shelf and take it home.

More often than not, these labels will be misleading because the company behind these products is looking to make a profit off those who buy them and couldn’t give a tinker’s curse who it could hurt.
So that is why it is important to look out for these two words on the labels of foods before buying them so you can ensure that you will be safe. Stick around to find out what those are.
Alright, first of all, let’s discuss the elephant in the room, how do all of these unstandardized products make it onto the shelf if they are prepared so halfheartedly without a second thought ever being given to the concern of the people in question! Well, there is a reason for that.
When food is prepared and sent on to the shelf, there is an intermediate party that monitors all the comings and goings and tests the food to see if it is up to standards. This is the firewall in the system, the antivirus so to speak and it is coyly named the FDA.
Now the FDA goes through this screening process for a lot of foods but there is only so much that these guys can do, and with so many food products out there on the shelves, it is impossible to screen through each and every one of them. So what they do in this case is they screen out and check only the products that come from the biggest companies.
If they know that at least a significant proportion of their population will be safe then they can rest assured that they have done the job satisfactorily, and since they can’t really check and screen through every product that comes out, they have to make a distinction between products they have screened and those that they haven’t.

And the way they do that is that they add a label at the back that says FDA approved. So if you see that, then you know you are in the safe zone. All you have to do now is enjoy the food.
