Tropical fruits contain some of the rarest and most concentrated amounts of nutrients, this should come as no surprise. In particular, Noni fruit is notorious for being densely rich in unique nutrients and properties that have magical healing powers.

Behind its strong and cheesy odor hide important health benefits that can prevent both internal and external infections and illnesses, promote weight loss, fight LDL cholesterol, and the list goes on. Polynesians have been using all parts of the plant for over 2,000 years for its medicinal and healing properties. Discover what Noni fruit is and how to reap all its benefits from juice, fermented fruit juice, and tea!

1. Background

Over the past 20 years, Noni fruit gained so much popularity within the health industry because of the commercialization of its products. Between the years 1999 and 2007, the yearly income from Noni products grew from 33 million to 250 million. Those are huge numbers considering the short period of 8 years. However, by deep inspection of the fruit, we can see how this growth is well deserved.

Being a tropical fruit that grows in wet and very dry areas, Noni fruit is very cold-sensitive and can die in any temperatures lower than 40°C. Mainly, you can find it in Southeast Asia, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Australia.

2. Nutritional Value

Noni fruit is small in size but very potent in both smell and nutrients. It’s highly rich in a long list of vitamins and over 17 amino acids. That’s why it can strengthen your health and promote cell growth and immune system efficiency. On top of this, it serves as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.

It can fight cholesterol, mainly LDL cholesterol, reduce stress, and significantly increase your energy levels. All of these benefits can be extracted from any part of the fruit through daily consumption. We will give you simple recipes to consume Noni the proper way at the end of this article. These include juice and tea preparation methods, so hang in there!

3. Health Benefits

Noni fruit and juice have magical healing properties that can be extracted from the fruit itself, leaves, roots, flowers, and bark. By consuming it regularly, you’ll be able to reinforce your immune system, fight bacterial, viral, parasitic, and even fungal infections. You can also drink some warm Noni tea to heal a sore throat, diarrhea, and even period cramps and disorders.

Many scientists claim that Noni fruit can heal illnesses at their advanced stages like Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. However, research suggests that while it can prevent the development of such diseases by fighting tumors, rheumatisms, and arthritics, there is not enough evidence to conclude its effects on more serious diseases.

Noni is an amazing fruit for your overall health and functioning. It’s rich in amino acids and Xeronine that build up the protein in your body and support its cellular regeneration. Another one of its amazing internal benefits on the human body is the improvement of digestion upon consumption. Thanks to the abundance of antioxidants and fibers in Noni, it acts as an internal cleanser and weight loss promoter. This is the perfect combination of effects to accelerate your weight loss journey.

Conveniently, Noni leaves and roots, and sometimes even the fruit itself, can be applied on wounds and external inflammations. That’s because Noni has great healing and cicatrization properties. These can help reduce irritation on surface wounds and promote cell growth in the area. It can also impressively reduce the inflammation and irritation caused by a tattoo.

Moreover, thanks to its richness in Proxeronine, it significantly improves your mood immediately and in the long term. This rare but powerful substance promotes endorphin production and cortisol elimination in your body. It’ll help relieve your stress and relax you in no time!

On top of all of this, Noni has anti-aging elements that promote collagen production and target wrinkles and hyperpigmented spots on your skin, and heals them! You can either apply the fruit and its surrounding parts directly on your skin or consume it in your favorite beverage regularly and daily.

4. Recipes:

Noni is a natural anti-inflammatory that citizens of tropical areas have been benefiting from through natural recipes of tea, juice, natural medicine, etc. You can either consume the fruit directly in spite of its unpleasant odor, through infusion, dried Noni extracts, or pharmaceutical pills and supplements.

1. Noni pulp juice

The fastest way to benefit from ripe Noni fruits is by using them directly in a juice recipe. Begin by mashing the fruits in a strainer to get rid of the seeds. Then, add some of your favorite juice to camouflage the unpleasant smell of ripe Noni. You can use orange, pineapple, grape, or any other fruit juice you prefer! After you’re done, try to keep it in a cool place for a maximum of 3 days. Drink it twice or thrice a day, and bon appetit!

2. Fermented Noni Juice

Another way to extract the benefits and juices from Noni is through fermentation. Depending on the size of your container, pluck a few ripe fruits and keep them in there under the sunlight for a couple of months. You should optimally use soft and translucent roots. When the fruit is green or still not fully white, it means that it still needs some time before being harvested.

After the long process of fermentation is over, you’ll need to pasteurize the liquid squeezed from the fruits. In the end, you will have your own homemade Noni juice with the same nutritional value and, surprisingly, a sweet smell and taste. We recommend that you drink it once or twice a day for maximum benefits.

3. Noni tea

Take a couple of Noni fruits, slice them into medium discs and leave them under the sunlight for 2 to 3 days. You can do the same thing using a food dehydrator. At the end of that, take the dehydrated slices and put them in an infuser if you have one, or a regular kettle if you don’t. The dried Noni slices have the same health benefits as the ripe ones, but the smell is significantly reduced after infusion. Enjoy this tea 2 to 3 times a day!

This magical fruit is a gift from nature to all human beings. Not reaping its benefits is nothing short of a waste. However, just like everything else in life, you should not go beyond a certain level or else the effects will be reversed. In some cases of excessive consumption of this fruit, there were signs of liver damage due to the acidity and strength of the Noni fruit.

Drinking one to three cups a day of either Noni tea, fermented Noni juice, or regular Noni juice, will improve your health, prevent inflammation and the formation of tumors, reduce cholesterol and stress levels, promote nutrient production, and enhance your immune system.
